Fiat is an Italian auto manufacturer, engine manufacturer, financial, and industrial group. Fiat also manufactures railway engines and carriages, military vehicles and aircraft.

Fiat manufactures and sells cars in Iran though a licensing agreement with the Pars Industrial Foundation.  The company’s website features four different models of FIAT cars available for purchase in Iran.[1] Fiat is also reportedly opening a Maserati dealership in Tehran in order to further expand its presence in Iran.[2

In Fiscal Year 2011, the Fiat Company held 89 contracts valued at over $4.3 million with the U.S. Department of Defense.[4]  In 2009, Fiat received a 20% stake in U.S. automaker Chrysler through U.S. federal bailout loans[5]. Fiat has since repaid its U.S. and Canadian government loans and now holds a 58.5% stake in Chrysler.[6]
